A visit to Kris & John Center's Home

Apothacary purchased from an Amish auction

Bass and catfish pond near Center's home.
Its man-made and about 15 feet deep.
Dad and John by the barn. They want to redo the barn and put a place for people to meet in the loft for activities such as dancing, etc.
Pet goats. The white are Burt and Ernie. The other two are Gilbert and Sullivan.
Center's home from the pond.
Kris and John Center. I caught her laughing at me.
An Amish carriage that passed while we were out looking at the farm.

We went up to the farm early on Saturday and had lunch and visited before we had to be in Kirtland. Kris had prepared clam chowder, taco soup, fruit and a delicious chocolate bundt cake for us. they have a spring in their basement that provides water for the house. She said this spring when they had the snow melt they could hear the water rushing through the basement. The house is 100 years old. They were out biking when they first saw the home. It later came up for sale. They have had to put a lot of work into it to make it as nice as it is--including enlarging the kitchen/dining area which is about 25 x 20 feet and redoing the outside porch. The apothacary piece they purchased at an auction and is 14 feet long and came in two pieces which they carried to their home on a 7 foot trailer. They had to call members from the ward to help them get it into the house. Then it required a lot of work to refinish it, but isn't it a fun piece of furniture! John is a veterinarian and so it is appropriate that he has an apothacary. They are great people. I'll send you another e-mail with the Kirtland Temple info on it. love ya,
